Chair Encyclopedia by The PhysicalMind Institute

The PhysicalMind Institute recently issued an updated version of its Chair Encyclopedia. The original book was published in 2004 and the latest edition within the last month or so. Since the original book was issued, Peak Pilates became a licensee for the patented Chair design which was created by and is owned by Joan Breibart. Peak has brought chair work to the masses with their MVe program which is offered in many gym settings in addition to Pilates studios. The books are nearly identical with the newer edition offering photographs in color. Photographs in the older version are black and white. Circular Pilates by Joan Breibart

Circular Pilates by Joan Breibart

Standing is a natural evolution of the Pilates mat work but now we have gone even further with the development of Circular Pilates. What is Circular Pilates? Circular Pilates teaches a continuous 25-minute routine of moving through rotational exercises in sitting, kneeling, supine, prone and standing configurations.... Continue ...

Peak Pilates MVe Complete Workout System DVD’s

Peak Pilates MVe Complete Workout System DVD’s

I recently enjoyed two of them and came away with some good ideas for my clients and classes. The MVe Definition Reformer DVD is a beginner workout on the reformer combining Pilates mat exercises, squats, lunges and handheld weights for upper body strength. The program has a nice pace, shows modifications and keeps you moving on and off the reformer for a good total body workout. Master Trainer, Zoey Trapp does a good job of cueing her two participants and keeps them flowing for 50 minutes on the MVe Fitness Reformer. Master Trainer, Sonia... Continue ...
