Hello all--I'm curious if any of you have found similar issues with women who have had breast implants. One of my clients has had headaches, neck tension and pain for quite some time and I believe we've been able to narrow it down to have begun after she got breast implants. The surgery was performed more as a precautionary measure against breast cancer (strong family connection) as opposed to enlargement/enhancement. The implants are behind the pectoral muscles. This client is unable to lift her arms over her head without bending her elbows. I strongly suspect that there is scar tissue (lats/pecs?) causing this. She does some myfascial release in the lats and sort of into the lower part of the arm pits which helps a little.
Anyone have any comments or advice on this? I'd sure appreciate some help!

Beth,
I also had similar issues with a client who had a breast surgery. I referred them to a myofascial release therapist to help release the fascia. I was not aware the fascia will actually "rope" around underneath the breast and latch onto the back side of the spine to gain support. even if the breast are not large. The therapist informed me it was a good idea for anyone who has had any surgery to have this done. I also advised my client she will have to stretch everyday, She also swims (side stroke) and does Pilates twice a week and we have seen improvement in her flexibility.Posted 10 months ago #
