In my experience, injuries are UNcommon in any type of Pilates class. I urge you to see your physician because you have been in pain for so long. I have never personally seen or heard of this type of injury and am curious if you experienced pain on a particular exercise of if the stiffness sort of crept up on you.</p> <p>Check back in with us after you've seen your doctor and let us know the outcome. I would hate to see you give up Pilates so soon after starting. I recently began a Pilates Reformer class at my gym. I tried a sample class and liked it immediately because I love core work and I love stretching. During my 2nd class, my neck felt stiff. Toward the end, I could tell there was definitely something wrong w/ my neck. I couldn't turn it to the right without pain. By the time I drove home about 1/2 hour later, I could not move my head at all without extreme pain. It is now 4 days after the incident, and after several ice packs later, I am much better than that night, however I am still in pain and I have had horrible headaches and feel sick to my stomach off and on. Ibuprofen doesn't seem to even touch the pain. Has anybody every had this happen either to them or to a client or ever heard of anything similar? You may want to start by having her soften her knees so she is not working the joint but the muscles. As a dancer, she may be accustomed to using her feet and not her powerhouse. Try to get her to relax her feet and really concentrate on using the adductors to keep the inner thighs together and not just her feet/lower leg.
